Dr. Jason Berkley
Dr. Berkley is a board-certified neurologist specializing in spine injections, pain medication management, and EMG nerve studies. He is currently on staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Institute for Spinal Disorders.
After obtaining his bachelor’s degree in psychology at Michigan State University, Dr. Berkley attended medical school at the University of Health Sciences in Kansas City. He completed an osteopathic internship and neurology residency at Botsford General Hospital in Michigan. Dr. Berkley completed his fellowship in neurophysiology at Henry Ford Hospital in Michigan.
Dr. Berkley is a member of several reputable medical societies including the American Medical Association, American Osteopathic Association, American College of Neurology and Neuropsychiatry, American Academy of Neurology, and American Epilepsy Society.
Dr. William Bolling
Dr. Bolling is a board certified orthopedic surgeon. He received his undergraduate degree from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado and his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. He went on to complete a general surgery internship at the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Medicine in Scottsdale, Arizona.
After his internship, Dr. Bolling enrolled in the United States Air Force where he served as a General Medical Officer and participated in the Red Flag Desert and Biowarfare Medical Training Course. After his military training, Dr. Bolling completed an orthopedic residency at the San Francisco Orthopeadic Residency Program. He then returned to the United States Air Force and provided care for active duty soldiers as well as participated in Medical Readiness and Biowarfare Training.
After his military service, Dr. Bolling returned to California to train in the latest minimally invasive surgical techniques. He trained with Brad L. Penenberg, M.D., a leading surgeon specializing in Minimally Invasive Joint Replacement. Follwing his fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at the Arthritis and Joint Replacement Institute of Southern California, Dr. Bolling began a private practice in Los Angeles. He continues his research in total hip arthroplasty and minimally invasive surgery and has presented these topics to a variety of audiences throughout the country.
Dr. Brendan Carroll
Dr. Carroll is a board certified general surgeon at Cedar Sinai Medical Center. He specializes in advanced laparoscopic surgical techniques and has conducted various presentations and published numerous articles focused on this technique.
Dr. Carroll received his undergraduate degree in chemistry and his medical degree from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. He completed his residency in general surgery at Cedar-Sinai Medical Center, where he is currently serving on the voluntary teaching staff.
Dr. Shay Dean
Dr. Dean is board certified in plastic surgery and serves as the Medical Director of Dean Plastic Surgery Associates. He has built a broad based practice in hand reconstruction, microsurgery, upper extremity reconstructive surgery, facial reconstruction, breast reconstruction, and cosmetic surgery.
Dr. Dean attended the University of Michigan on a full scholarship to study pre-med and majored in biological anthropology. His 4.0 GPA in his senior year of college merited him a full scholarship for medical school at the University of Michigan where he identified his career goal: plastic and reconstructive surgery. He became dedicated to innovative surgical research and his work was presented nationally and published in medical journals including the Journal of Critical Care.
Dr. Dean continued his medical education as a general surgery resident at the University of Florida. In his third year of residency he was awarded Best Teaching Resident by the graduating medical school class of 2002. He continued to contribute to the medical literature with work in malignant melanoma staging and diagnosis. In 2005, he became a board certified general surgeon. Dr. Dean completed his fellowship in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of North Carolina. During his fellowship, he co-authored a publication in the Journal of Craniofacial Surgery, and presented his research findings at the International Society of Craniofacial Surgeons in Australia. Dr. Dean also volunteered his time on a medical mission in Moyabamba, Peru before graduating in 2006 and becoming a board certified plastic surgeon in 2007.
Dr. Richard Emmanuel
Dr. Emmanuel is a board certified orthopedic surgeon, specializing in treating complex back and neck disorders such as herniated discs and spinal stenosis. Since 1999, Dr. Emmanuel has performed thousands of knee, hip and shoulder surgeries using the most advanced minimally invasive techniques.
Dr. Emmanuel earned his medical degree from the USC Keck School of Medicine and completed a research fellowship at the Mayo Clinic. Following a five-year orthopedic surgery residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center in New York, Dr. Emmanuel moved back to Los Angeles to complete subspecialty fellowship training for Spine Surgery at the Southern California Orthopedic Institute.
Dr. Emmanuel has gained expertise in innovative surgical techniques and specializes in complex minimally invasive surgery involving the lumbar, thoracic, and cervical spine. Dr. Emmanuel is amongst a handful of surgeons with special training and certification to perform the Artificial Disc Replacement Surgery. Years of experience has earned him national recognition in performing Minimally Invasive Total Joint Replacement Surgery of the Knee, Hip and Shoulder.
Dr. Emmanuel is a member of various associations including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, North American Spine Society, and California Orthopedic Association.
Dr. Joel Feinstein
Dr. Feinstein is a dual board-certified gastroenterologist and internal medicine specialist. His primary focus is working with digestive cancers of the colon, esophagus, pancreas, liver, and gallbladder. He also treats various internal digestive disorders including irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), constipation, diarrhea, and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Dr. Feinstein uses a variety of dietary measures and natural alternatives to treat some of the more common digestive problems, sparring many patients from unnecessary procedures.
Dr. Feinstein received his medical degree from State University of New York Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. He completed his residency at Kings County Hospital, University Hospital in Brooklyn New York followed with a fellowship in gastroenterology at Cedar-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. Dr. Feinstein has his own private practice and performs many of his surgeries at Linden Surgical Center.
Dr. Mark Ganjianpour
Dr. Ganjianpour is a board certified orthopedic surgeon who grew up in Clearwater, Florida. He attended the University of Florida for his undergraduate studies in Microbiology and stayed on to complete his graduate education in medicine. After completing his residency in orthopedic surgery, Dr. Ganjianpour performed fellowship training at the Southern California Orthopedic Institute (SCOI) in sports medicine, minimally invasive surgery, and arthroscopic reconstruction of the shoulder, knee and ankle. Throughout his career as a Sports Medicine orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Ganjianpour has continuously been involved in the care of athletes. He has served as team physician for local high schools since 1996, provided medical coverage for local colleges and athletic organizations including Great Floridian Triathlon, and has participated in the direct care of international Olympic athletes training in the United States.
Dr. Ganjianpour has written book chapters, published articles, and given many local and national lectures on topics pertaining to the field of sports medicine, arthroscopy, and minimally invasive surgery. He has also been a clinical instructor at local and national orthopedic surgery and arthroscopy courses. His interests include minimally invasive approaches to the treatment of arthritis of the knee and shoulder, cartilage replacement procedures, rotator cuff disease, instability of the shoulder, instability of the knee and ankle, and ligament injuries of the knee and ankle.
Dr. Ganjianpour is currently serving as the Chairman of Department of Surgery at Olympia Medical Center. He has the distinction of receiving a certification of added qualification (CAQ) in Sports Medicine from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a member of the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, Arthroscopic Association of North America, a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and a Qualified Medical Examiner (Q.M.E.) for the State of California Industrial Medical Council, Department of Industrial Relations. He is on staff at Cedar Sinai Medical Center and Olympia Medical Center. However, Dr. Ganjianpour performs many of his surgeries at Linden Surgical Center of Beverly Hills.
Dr. Ganjianpour’s practice is general orthopaedic surgery with subspecialty focus on minimally invasive surgery of the knee, shoulder and ankle, and shoulder and knee replacement surgery.
Dr. Gabriel Hunt Jr.
Gabriel E. Hunt, Jr. is a board certified neurosurgeon who focuses on the treatment of spinal cord injuries and spinal trauma, the treatment of complex spinal disorders, as well as tumors and vascular abnormalities of the skull base, spine, and spinal cord.
Known by his patients and peers as one of the most skilled spine doctors in Los Angeles, Dr. Hunt specializes in the minimally invasive approach to treat all appropriate spinal disorders. In addition to his private practice with Hunt Spine, Dr. Hunt is also an attending neurosurgeon at the Cedars-Sinai Department of Neurosurgery and the Cedars-Sinai Spine Center.
Dr. Hunt’s primary areas of research interest include new advances in the treatment of spinal cord injuries and developing new minimally invasive surgical technologies. As a knowledgeable and influential Los Angeles spine doctor, he is a member of the American Medical Association, American Association of Neurological Surgeons, and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons.
Dr. Hunt has written articles for several peer-reviewed publications, including Neurosurgical Focus, American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Neurological Research. He has given numerous presentations in his areas of expertise in the United States and abroad. He was also a recipient of a Howard Hughes Research Fellowship while attending the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Medicine.
Dr. Hunt began his higher education with a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and his medical degree from the UCLA School of Medicine. He completed an internship in general surgery and a residency in neurological surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and the Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience in Philadelphia. Dr. Hunt received specialized training in the treatment of complex spinal disorders, spinal trauma, and spinal cord injuries through participation in the Orthopedic and Neurosurgical fellowship program at the Delaware Valley Regional Spinal Cord injury Center at Thomas Jefferson University.
Dr. Leonel A Hunt
Leonel Hunt, M.D. is a board certified spine surgeon, specializing in the treatment of pediatric and adult scoliosis, complex spine disorders, and minimally invasive surgical techniques. He is known as one of the top spine specialists in Los Angeles.
Dr. Hunt is an attending surgeon at various hospitals throughout southern California including Cedar-Sinai Medical Center, University of California at San Diego Thornton Hospital, Scripps Memorial Hospital, Sharp Memorial Hospital, and Children’s Hospital of San Diego. He also serves as the Director of Spine Trauma at Cedars-Sinai Spine Center and Orthopedic Center.
Dr. Hunt’s primary areas of research interest involved orthopedic implants and innovative treatments of spine-related back pain. His findings have been presented at numerous national and international conferences as well as peer review publications.
Dr. Hunt earned his undergraduate degree from John Hopkins University and his medical degree at the University of Southern California (USC) School of Medicine. He completed an internship in general surgery at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and a residency in orthopedic surgery at St. Mary’s Medical Center in San Francisco, California. Dr. Hunt also received specialty training in orthopedic surgery of the spine focusing on both adult and pediatric spinal disorders at the San Diego Center for Spinal Disorders in La Jolla, California.
Dr. Gregory Levitin
Dr. Levitin is a board certified otolaryngologist (head and neck surgeon) and a fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS). Dr. Levitin earned his medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and completed his residency training in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the prestigious Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City.
Dr. Levitin was selected as one of “America’s Best Doctors” for 2013 and is honored to be recognized by his peers as a leader in the diagnosis and management of vascular birthmarks. He is the author or co-author of several book chapters and national journal articles in the field of hemangiomas and vascular malformations, and has presented his work at several national and international meetings.
Dr. Levitin was first drawn to the specialty of vascular birthmarks after one of his twin daughters was diagnosed with a large hemangioma that required medical and laser therapy, and ultimately surgical treatment. Combining this unique personal experience with his extensive training, Dr. Levitin is one of just a handful of specialists across the entire country that is trained to treat vascular birthmarks.
Dr. Levitin’s specialties include the medical and surgical treatment for children and adults for all types of vascular birthmarks, including hemangiomas, venous malformations, lymphatic malformations, port-wine stains, and other vascular tumors. Dr. Gregory Levitin is often consulted by his peers to evaluate patients with complex and advanced disease, and works closely with each patient to develop an individualized plan of treatment combining the safest, most advanced and minimally invasive techniques.
Dr. Ajay Masih
Dr. Masih is board certified in pain management and rehabilitation, specializing in conservative management of musculoskeletal disorders, spine injuries and disorders, and sports and occupational injuries. He offers various interventional and diagnostic spine procedures including cervical and lumbar epidural and facet injections, sacroiliac joint injections, and piriformis muscle injections.
Dr. Masih graduated from the University of California Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. He received his medical degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and completed a transitional internship at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose, California. Dr. Masih completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Northwestern University Medical School at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, which is a top-ranked Rehabilitation Hospital as ranked by USA Today. Dr. Masih completed his fellowship training in Spine, Sports, and Occupational Medicine at Buffalo Spine and Sports Medicine in Buffalo, New York. During his fellowship, he also received training in interventional spine procedures, electrodiagnostic procedures, and manual medicine techniques.
Dr. Masih is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPM&R) and the North American Spine Society (NASS).
Dr. Yosef Nasseri
Dr. Nasseri is double board-certified in general and colorectal surgery and specializes in cutting-edge robotic and minimally invasive techniques for the treatment of colon and rectal cancers, inflammatory bowel disease, benign anorectal, diseases, a variety of hernias, and general surgery.
After obtaining his bachelor’s degree from UCLA, Dr. Nasseri attended medical school at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York followed with a seven-year general residency, with a year dedicated to research at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Following his residency, Dr. Nasseri completed a fellowship in colorectal surgery at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic.
Dr. Nasseri is a member of several reputable medical and surgical societies and has performed a wide variety of charitable work, including medical missions in third world countries, organizing services to disadvantaged communities, and educating young people on prevention of HIV and other communicable diseases. He is very active in academia and has published numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. He is also a reviewer of several journals including the American Journal of Clinical Oncology and has delivered lectures and participated in panels and committees at national and international conferences.
Dr. Noreen Oswell
Dr. Oswell is board certified in foot surgery and podiatry orthopedics. She is the Clinical Chief of the Podiatric Surgery Division at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and past president of the California Podiatric Medical Association. She is also on the board of directors for Podiatry Insurance Company of America and was named one of the country’s “175 Most Influential Podiatrists” by Podiatry Management magazine. She now serves as director of The Foot Center-A Podiatric Surgical Group in Los Angeles, California. She has been featured in various media outlets including the LA Times, NYTimes.com, and NBC Los Angeles.
Dr. Oswell received her medical degree from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is a member of the Los Angeles County Podiatric Medical Society and the American Association of Women Podiatrists.
Dr. Bal Rajagopalan (Dr. Raj)
Dr. Raj is a board certified orthopedic surgeon in America, Canada, and Dubai. He specializes in hip and knee replacements and stem cell therapy. Dr. Raj has been featured on various media outlets including CBS’s The Doctor’s, ABC’s Good Morning America, and on the cover of Beverly Hills Times Magazine.
Dr. Raj received his undergraduate degree in chemistry from Dalhousie University in Canada, followed with the completion of his medical degree at Memorial University PGME in Newfoundland, Canada. Dr. Raj also completed his orthopedic internship and residency at Memorial University PGME.
Dr. Raj serves as a consultant editor for Web MD Hip and Knee Replacement Community, ABC News Medical Consultant, and an expert for The Globe and National Enquirer.
Dr. Sam Sanandaji
Dr. Sanandaj is a board certified podiatric surgeon with training in the newest surgical techniques such as arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgery. While he enjoys the full scope of podiatric medicine he specifically enjoys working in sports medicine, pediatric care, geriatric conditions, and issues associated with bony prominences such as bunions and hammertoes.
Dr. Sanandaji earned an undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of California, Los Angeles, followed with a one-year postgraduate clinical research study evaluating the effectiveness of medications treating the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). His findings were published in several prominent publications. Dr. Sanandaji went on to complete his medical degree at the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco, followed with a three-year residency program in podiatric surgery at Kaiser Permanente, Hayward/Fremont.
Dr. Sanandaji is an active member of many professional groups including the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, American Podiatric Medical Association, the California Podiatric Medical Association, Los Angeles County Podiatric Medical Society, and the American Association of Podiatric Practice Management.
Dr. Leslie Stricke
Dr. Stricke is board certified in pulmonary medicine and has been named as one of Southern California’s Super Doctors by L.A. Magazine eight years in a row. He currently serves as a clinical associate professor of Medicine at UCLA School of Medicine. In 2010, he received a Certificate of Service for serving thirty years in the Department of Medicine at UCLA School of Medicine. He also received the Physician’s Recognition Award in Continuing Medical Education.
Dr. Stricke received his undergraduate and medical degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesberg, South Africa. He continued his education with an internship and residency at Johannesburg General Hospital in South Africa. After his residency, Dr. Stricke moved to the United States where he completed a clinical fellowship in pulmonary medicine at New England Medical Center Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. He also completed a teaching fellowship in pulmonary medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Stricke was a recipient of the Pulmonary Academic Award during his last year as a teaching fellow.
Dr. Stricke works in a private practice in Los Angeles, California and serves as Medical Director in the Pulmonary Division at So.Cal Hospital in Culver City. He is also a member of the Nomination Committee, Clinical Chief Pulmonary Division at Cedars Sinai Medical Center.
Dr. Joseph Sugerman
Dr. Sugerman is board certified in otolaryngology and is on staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Department of ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat). He is also Chairman of Continuing Education, ENT Department and a clinical instructor at USC School of Medicine. Dr. Sugerman has worked with many singers in Los Angeles and is sensitive to the vocal demands placed on performers. He provides great insight into vocal health and longevity.
Dr. Sugerman received his undergraduate degree from UCLA and went on to complete his medical degree at Chicago Medical School where he graduated with honors. He completed both an internship and residency in otolaryngology at USC.
Dr. Benjamin Swartout
Dr. Swartout, M.D. is a fellowship-trained subspecialist in Facial Plastic surgery. He is passionate about providing high quality care to his patients and creating natural un-operated appearing results.
Dr. Swartout attended college at Harvard University, followed by medical school at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He completed an internship in general surgery at New York University and a specialty residency in Otolaryngology – Head & Neck surgery at New York University. Following his specialty training, Dr. Swartout completed a fellowship in Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Illinois in Chicago. The focus of his training in Chicago was on revision rhinoplasty and the use of rib cartilage grafts.
Dr. Swartout has published numerous articles and book chapters focusing on aesthetic facial surgery, specifically rhinoplasty, revision rhinoplasty, and ethnic rhinoplasty. In his practice he sees many patients that have had prior rhinoplasty by other surgeons and now require correction. His special interests include the development of rhinoplasty techniques to create long lasting, favorable nasal shape and good nasal breathing. He teaches nasal surgery to residents at Harbor UCLA both to contribute to the education of future doctors and to give back to an underserved community.
Dr. Swartout is a member of the Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery, and the American Rhinologic Society.
Dr. Mark Weissman
Dr. Weissman is a board certified podiatric surgeon. He received a bachelors of Science in biology from Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York and a medical degree from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Weissman is currently on staff at Cedars- Sinai Medical Center and Olympia Medical Center in Beverly Hills, California. He is also on staff at Podiatry Medical Practice, a private practice in Los Angeles, California.
